The Greenville Grrrowl opened the game with three first-period goals and cruised to victory in a 4-1 win over the Augusta Lynx on Saturday night.

Greenville (21-11-1) would help head coach John Marks celebrate his record-breaking 879th game coached with goals from Cody Blanshan, Jason Jozsa, and Allan Sirois to move out in front 3-0 after one period of play.

The Grrrowl extended their lead with the only goal of the second period from John Snowden at 13:55 for a 4-0 advantage.

Augusta (16-19-3) got their only goal of the game from Ryan Lang at the 11:49 of the third period, as he tipped a Ken Scuderi shot from the point past Mike Morrison, who turned aside 26 shots for the win. Jason Wolfe made 22 saves in the loss.

The Lynx are back in action next weekend against the Stingrays in South Carolina, followed by a game in Florida against the Everblades before heading to the west coast to battle Alaska and Victoria. Augusta's next home game is February 10th against the Charlotte Checkers.
