
Ice Pilots Battle Back To Win Fourth In A Row 3-2 At Columbia

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots won their fourth game in a row for the first time this season scoring three goals in the third period to defeat the Columbia Inferno 3-2 in front of 5,551 fans in Columbia, South Carolina.
After a scoreless opening period, Leon Hayward scored the first goal of the game for Columbia jamming the puck by Ice Pilots goalie Todd Ford from in front of the goal at the 2:14 mark of the second period. Dallas Flaman gave Columbia a 2-0 lead scoring a goal with 26 seconds left in the second period.
Dallas Steward scored his fourth goal of the season for the Ice Pilots at the 5:31 mark of the third period to make it a 2-1 game. Mark Rooneem tied the game on a power play goal at the 10:50 mark of the third period scoring on a back hand shot that went by Columbia goalie Chris Houle.
Nick Lindberg scored the game winning goal also on a back hand for the Ice Pilots at the 14:04 mark of the third period to give the Ice Pilots a 3-2 win.
The Ice Pilots had 27 shots on goal, 14 penalty minutes and went 1-7 on the power play. Columbia had 37 shots on goal, 16 penalty minutes and went 0-5 on the power play. Todd Ford was the winning goalie for the Ice Pilots and Chris Houle took the loss in goal for Columbia.
The Ice Pilots improved their record to 15-18-3 for 33 points and Columbia dropped their record to 13-20-5 for 31 points.
The Ice Pilots will continue their road trip on Monday at Greenville with a 5:05 p.m. central time face-off. The pre game show on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network begins at 4:50 p.m. central time.
