January 14, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx wrap up a five game home stand tonight against the Greenville Grrrowl on Martin Lapointe night! Faceoff is slated for 7:35 pm, and the first 2,000 fans through the door receive a pair of First Command Financial Thunderstix!
Augusta will honor Lapointe tonight for breaking the all-time Lynx record for games played, set at 280 by John Whitwell. Lapointe played in his 281st game on December 30th against the South Carolina Stingrays, and Whitwell will be on hand to help honor the new record holder before tonight's contest.
Also of historical significance this evening, Greenville head coach John Marks will surpass John Brophy's record of 878 games coached when he steps behind the bench for his 879th contest tonight against the Lynx.
Tonight is also College Night, Scout Night, Church Night, and Richmond County Schools Night, with all participants receiving discount pricing on tickets for tonight's game. Plus, a lucky fan will have a chance to win a ruby ring valued at $1,000 courtesy of the Jeweler's Bench in our Ruby Roll contest.
