
Marcus Owen Earns First AFL Award

Dragons lineman Marcus "Snowball" Owen has been named to the US Army All-Ironman team. The fourth-year veteran had one of his best seasons in the AFL in 2005, allowing only two sacks in Week 3 and nothing else.The announcement was made live on ESPNews.
"It's nice to be recognized by your peers, the other coaches around the league, the media and the fans," said Owen. "It's a great honor to have and I'm glad I can represent the Dragons on the All-Ironman team this season."
Defensively for the season, Owen recorded 21.0 tackles, 18 of which were solo, 2.5 sacks, 5.0 tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a blocked kick. In his career, Owen has registered 44.5 tackles, 6.0 sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two blocked kicks.
