ORLANDO WR/LB CORY FLEMING vs. NEW YORK DS BILLY PARKER
2005 AFL All-Arena selections WR/LB CORY FLEMING (6-2, 218, Tennessee) and DS BILLY PARKER (6-0, 195, William & Mary) square off when the Orlando Predators (10-6) travel to Nassau Coliseum to take on the Eastern Division Champion New York Dragons (10-6) this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Fleming, the 2004 Ironman of the Year, ranks No 2 in career receiving touchdowns (229) and No. 4 in career receiving yards (9,658). A four-time All-Arena first team selection, Fleming recorded 33 touchdowns this season (t-5).
Parker, the only rookie named to the All-Arena first team this season, led all rookies with 90.0 tackles (No. 7 overall) and 21 passes defended (No. 3 overall). The former William & Mary standout finished the season with a League-high ten interceptions, falling just one shy of the rookie record.
CHICAGO OL/DL JOHN MOYER vs. LOS ANGELES OL/DL SILAS DEMARY
Two of the League's most dangerous linemen will face off this Sunday when OL/DL JOHN MOYER (6-3, 265, Eastern Illinois) and the Chicago Rush (9-7) head to the Staples Center to battle OL/DL SILAS DEMARY (6-3, 285, Virginia State) and the Western Division Champion Los Angeles Avengers (10-6) this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Moyer, the 2004 Lineman of the Year, leads the League in sacks over the past four seasons (29), ranks No. 5 in sacks this season (6) and was recently named to the 2005 All-Arena second team.
This season, Demary set a new AFL record for sacks in a single-season (13.5) and was a All-Arena first team selection. Over the last four seasons, Demary ranks No. 4 in sacks (21.5)
TAMPA BAY DS TRAMAIN JONES AND DS JONATHAN ORDWAY vs. GEORGIA OS TROY BERGERON AND WR/LB DEREK LEE
The Georgia rookie duo of OS TROY BERGERON (6-2, 180, Middle Tennessee State) and WR/LB DEREK LEE (6-5, 215, Tennessee Tech) will have their work cut out for them in their first-ever postseason game when the Force (11-5) host a solid Tampa Bay Storm (10-6) defense led by DS TRAMAIN JONES (6-2, 210, Angelo State) and DS JONATHAN ORDWAY (5-11, 180, Boston College) this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Bergeron and Lee, dubbed "Thunder and Lightning", finished the regular season with more receiving touchdowns than any other combo in the League (64). The tandem also individually set rookie records for receptions (Lee, 113) and receiving yards (Bergeron, 1,370).
Jones finished the season ranked No. 3 in both combined and solo tackles (114.0, 102.0 solo). Ordway finished the season ranked No. 2 in passes defended (29) and tallied six interceptions, tying him for No. 5 in the League.
SAN JOSE QB MARK GRIEB vs. COLORADO QB JOHN DUTTON
Former teammates and two of the last three ArenaBowl MVP's meet Sunday when QB MARK GRIEB (6-3, 208, UC-Davis) and the San Jose SaberCats (9-7) travel to the Pepsi Arena to take on QB JOHN DUTTON (6-4, 225, Nevada) and the Colorado Crush (10-6) this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
Dutton served as Grieb's backup in 2002 and led the SaberCats to victory in ArenaBowl XVI after Grieb suffered a season ending injury late in Week 13. Two years later, the SaberCats won the ArenaBowl again, this time under the leadership of Grieb, who was named ArenaBowl XVIII MVP.
