
Destroyers re-sign receiver/defensive back Jeremy Unertl

COLUMBUS, OH â The Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League have re-signed wide receiver/defensive back Jeremy Unertl to a one-year contract extension, Head Coach Chris Spielman announced today.
Unertl (6-1, 215, Wisconsin-La Crosse) appeared in five games with the Destroyers during the 2005 season, finishing with 12 catches for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Unertl had 18.0 tackles, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and one interception.
Unertl joined the Destroyers on April 11 after spending the first 12 weeks of the season with the Las Vegas Gladiators. He recorded 32 tackles (28 solo), three pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in seven games played with Las Vegas. He began his AFL career with the Gladiators in 2004, where he finished with 12 total tackles in six games his rookie year.
In other personnel moves, the Destroyers have released three players from the practice squad, including quarterbacks Scott McMullen and Tommy Jones, and wide receiver/defensive back Justin Isom. Per league rule, all practice squad players are released following the team's final game of the regular season.
