Marcellus Earns Player of the Week Honors

October 27, 2003 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

Tulsa Oilers' left wing Todd Marcellus has been named the Bauer/Nike CHL Player of the Week for the week of October 19-26.

In the Oilers' three games last week, Marcellus scored four goals and five points, leading Tulsa to a 2-1 record and helping the Oilers grab first place once again in the Northwest Division.

"It's a great honor to win," Marcellus said. "But it was more important to get the four points beating two great teams like Memphis and Colorado." He scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Memphis on Friday night, and then followed that up with two more goals (1 SH, 1 PP) the next night, a 4-2 win over Colorado.

"He's starting to get in stride," Oilers coach Bruce Garber said. "He did an outstanding job this weekend of burying his opportunities. He's a big part of this team and we're looking forward to his continued success."

The Tulsa Oilers return to action this Friday night, hosting the Oklahoma City Blazers at the Tulsa Convention Center. Faceoff will be at 7:35 p.m.

Individual game tickets can be purchased at the Oilers ticket office, at Carson Attractions, in the Tulsa Convention Center, or at the Drug Mart locations in Tulsa, Owasso, and Broken Arrow. Phone orders for game tickets can be made by calling 918-584-2000.

For season ticket information, call the Oilers office at 918-632-7825.
