
Oilers Take 2 of 3, Back in First Place

Tulsa Oilers News Release
The Tulsa Oilers won two of three games last week, and are back in first place in the CHL's Northwest Division, one point ahead of Oklahoma City.
Last Tuesday, the Oilers squared off with the Blazers, with Oklahoma City winning it 4-2. Jason Bermingham and Aaron Millar scored for Tulsa, and rookie netminder Tim Kelleher stopped 30 in between the pipes.
Then, on Friday night, the Oilers opened their home schedule, facing the two-time defending champion Memphis RiverKings at the Tulsa Convention Center. Team captain Todd Marcellus scored twice, while Jason Bermingham and Anthony D'Arpino each had two assists as the Oilers upended the RiverKings 2-1. Tim Kelleher was again strong in net, stopping 24 to earn his first professional victory.
The next night, Tulsa remained on home ice and hosted the expansion Colorado Eagles. Todd Marcellus added two more goals, and Shawn Scanzano tallied two assists as the Oilers defeated the Eagles 4-2. Mark Scott and Dan Gravelle also lit the lamp for Tulsa, and goaltender Rod Branch made 35 saves to up his record to 2-0 on the season.
Team Leaders...Todd Marcellus leads the team with 4 goals on the year, and ranks second in the CHL with 7 points. Marcellus is also tied for second in the league with 2 power-play tallies and third with a +5 rating. Anthony D'Arpino leads the defensive core for the Oilers with 6 points. D'Arpino is tied for the league-lead among defensemen in that category. Both goaltenders Rod Branch and Tim Kelleher have been solid in net for the Oilers. Branch is 2-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against-average and a .951 save percentage, and Kelleher is 1-1-1 with a 2.01 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
This coming week, the Oilers will host Oklahoma City on Friday night before traveling to Wichita Saturday, and facing the Blazers again on Sunday in Oklahoma City. Individual game tickets can be purchased at the Oilers ticket office, at Carson Attractions, in the Tulsa Convention Center, or at the Drug Mart locations in Tulsa, Owasso, and Broken Arrow.
