December 30, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release

Goaltender, Jean-Sebastian Aubin, made a franchise record 63 saves in guiding the Maple Leafs to a 5-3 victory over the Syracuse Crunch. The previous mark was 54 saves in a game set by Jimmy Waite on February 1, 2000 in a 2-0 win over the Kentucky Thoroughbaldes.

Aubin also set a new franchise mark for "Saves in a Period" turning aside all 29 shots he faced in the second period. The previous mark for this record was set by Mike Minard, with 27 saves in the 1st period in a 5-1 loss to the Saint John Flames on February 23, 2002.

The Maple Leafs tied a franchise mark for "Shots Against in a Game" when the Crunch sent 66 shots towards the Maple Leafs net. This mark was previously set on February 25, 2000 against the Providence Bruins.

The club also tied a franchise record for "Shots Against in a Period" when it allowed 29 shots by the Crunch in the second period of tonight's contest. This equaled the mark the club set on February 23, 2002 against the Flames when it allowed 29 shots against saves.

The St. John's Maple Leafs next action is Tuesday, January 4 when the club hosts the Hamilton Bulldogs. Game time is 7:35pm and will be broadcast live on Radio NL (930AM) and www.sjmapleleafs.ca.
