Red-hot Aucoin paces Bruins' win

The Providence Bruins began a stretch of six consecutive road games on Thursday night in Springfield, skating to a 4-2 victory over the Falcons. The Bruins are now in third place in the Atlantic Division with their 17-10-2-5 record (41 points). The Bruins are 8-0-0-3 in their last 11 games, taking 19 of a possible 21 points over that span. Providence center Keith Aucoin registered a four-point night, notching a hat trick and an assist. The goals were his sixth, seventh and eighth of the season. Right wing Yorick Treille scored his fifth goal of the season, his second in as many nights. Left wing Andy Hilbert added two assists, giving him points (3-6-9) in a team-high six straight games. Aucoin has points (4-6-10) in five straight.

Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 22 shots to improve to 14-9-3 on the season.

The Bruins also announced prior to the start of the game that left wing Dan LaCouture has been signed for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old native of Hyannis, Massachusetts was originally signed to a professional tryout agreement on November 2. LaCouture has 3-6-9 totals and 25 PIM in 20 games with Providence.
