Manitoba Moose Post-Game Report - Manitoba vs. Chicago - February 14

Goals:

- Josh Morrissey fires a slap shot from the blue line which redirects off the end boards and goes in off Wolves goaltender Jordan Binnington at 2:22 of the first period.

- Scooter Vaughan drives the Moose net and beats Connor Hellebuyck stick side with a wrist shot at 3:42 of the first period.

- Josh Morrissey shoots a slap shot from the point. On the ensuing scramble in front, Matt Halischuk knocks in the rebound at 16:20 of the first period while on the powerplay.

- Austen Brassard drives the net on the powerplay and takes a wrist shot from the circle beating Binnington high blocker side at 6:47 of the third period.

- Nic Petan works a give and go with Scott Kosmachuk where Petan scores from just in front of the Wolves net at 7:40 of the third period.

- Jiri Fronk drives on his off wing and wrists one far side past Binnington at 16:59 of the third period.

- Emerson Clark collects his own rebound in front and wrists it past Hellebuyck at 19:13 of the third period.

Highlights/Notes:

- Josh Morrissey had a career high four points in the game with a goal and three assists. He has now scored two goals in his last three games.

- Patrice Cormier recorded his five assist in his last five games. He is one of nine players on the Moose with double digit assist totals.

- Nic Petan scored his fifth goal in sixth games during the month of February. In his last three games he has three goals and an assist for four points.

- Forward Austen Brassard scored his 10th goal of the season. He continues to have a career year and is tied for second on the Moose in goals and is fifth in points with 22.

- Matt Halischuk had his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist.

- Rookie forward Jiri Fronk scored his sixth goal of the season. All six of his goals have come in the 12 games he has played at the MTS Centre this season. Only teammate Chase De Leo has scored more goals at home this season with nine.

- Moose goaltender Connor Hellebuyck made 39 saves in his first game with Manitoba since Nov. 20. He has a 2.37 goals against average and .929 save percentage in the AHL this season.

- The Moose had perfect percentage in special teams. The Moose were two-for-two on the powerplay and were a perfect five-for-five on the penalty kill. This was the first time the Moose were perfect in both categories in a game this season.

- The Moose earned their 10th home win of the season.

- The Moose defeated the Chicago Wolves for the first time this season in regulation. They will not meet again in the regular season.

Next Game is the start of a five game road trip when the Moose travel to face the Rockford IceHogs in a rare 10:30 a.m. start on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
