IceHogs Battle with Griffins in Sunday Showdown

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs (27-11-5-4) will try to end a four-game winless streak (0-1-3-0) when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins (27-18-1-1) at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 4 p.m. today.

Tickets are available for this afternoon's game and can be purchased online, by calling 815-968-5222, at the BMO Harris Bank Center box office, or at any Ticketmaster location including Walmart.

Today's contest will be broadcast live locally on WIFR's Justice Network on 23.3 and online at AHLLive.com. Television coverage kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with the IceHogs Warm Up pre-game show. Rockford dropped a 9-1 decision last Friday at home to Grand Rapids before falling 4-3 in overtime the next night at Van Andel Arena in the first pair of games following the AHL All-Star break.

Mike Liambas scored his first goal of the season in last Friday's defeat, and Michael Leighton extended his road unbeaten streak to eight games in the overtime loss last Saturday. Leighton upped his streak to nine games (5-0-4-0) in a 4-3 overtime loss in Milwaukee on Friday.

Mitch Callahan picked up a hat trick and five points overall last Friday before adding an assist in the Griffins win on Saturday. Overall, Grand Rapids totaled five power-play goals in 15 chances on the weekend.

Grand Rapids currently stands as the only team in the AHL that Rockford has a losing record against this season; the IceHogs have gone 1-3-1-0 against their Central Division rival in the first five meetings.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Feb. 17 vs. Manitoba Moose at 10:30 a.m. The IceHogs welcome the Moose to the BMO Harris Bank Center for the annual "School Day Game" in the first of four meetings on the season. Rockford is 7-8-1-0 all-time versus Manitoba.
