Last Game

Brady Brassart scored the tying and winning goals in the third period as the Mallards came from behind to defeat the host Kalamazoo Wings 2-1 Saturday night.

Taking Flight

The Mallards won back-to-back games last weekend, are unbeaten in regulation in their last four games (3-0-1) and have suffered just one regulation loss in their last nine games (7-1-1).

Busy

The Mallards tonight play the first of three games in three nights and the first of six in nine nights. The Mallards will play three times in three nights seven times this season.

Tough Room

The Mallards can leap-frog the Komets and take over third place in the highly competitive Central Division by winning tonight. Five of the seven ECHL teams that have winning percentages of .667 or better are members of the Central Division- the Mallards (.682), Komets (.667), Tulsa Oilers (.733), Toledo Walleye (.769) and Wichita Thunder (.667).

Central

The Mallards tonight play their third straight game against a division opponent. Last Saturday's win in Kalamazoo was the Mallards' fourth straight victory against a division foe. On the season, the Mallards have gone 4-2-0 against other Central Division clubs.

Comeback

The Mallards last Saturday in Kalamazoo came from behind to win for the first time this season. Brassart's goals overturned a 1-0 Wings lead.

First Strike Capability

The Mallards have won each of the last six times they have scored first.

On the Road

The Mallards have won back-to-back away games and four of their last five on the road.

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards have gone unbeaten in regulation (3-0-1) in four home games since dropping their season opener on home ice to Fort Wayne on October 14.

Stingy

The Mallards rank second in the ECHL in goals against (2.4 per game). The Mallards have allowed a total of just six non-shootout goals over their last four games and have surrendered two non-shootout goals or fewer in eight of their last nine games. The Mallards last Saturday in Kalamazoo gave up just one goal for the fourth time in their last eight games.

Red Light District

The Mallards now rank twenty-first in the league in goals per game. The Mallards score 2.6 times per outing, the lowest average for any ECHL club with a winning record. The Mallards had gone without a goal for just over three periods before Brassart scored four minutes into the third period last Saturday at Kalamazoo. That goal was the Mallards' first since Nolan LaPorte scored one night earlier with four seconds left in the second period of the Mallards' 4-2 win over Toledo.

Rubber

Last Saturday night, the Mallards equaled a club single game season low by taking 25 shots in Kalamazoo. The Mallards are tied for seventh in the ECHL in shots against (28.6 per game) and rank nineteenth in shots taken (29.6).

Timely

The two timely third period goals Brassart scored last Saturday in Kalamazoo were his first two goals of the season.

On Target

Chris Francis has scored four times in his last six games.

Double Dip

Justin Kovacs remains the team leader in points (12) and assists (8) despite going pointless in consecutive games for the first time this season in the Mallards' victories last weekend over Toledo and Kalamazoo.

Between the Pipes

C.J. Motte leads the ECHL in save percentage (.944), ranks third in goals against average (1.74) and is tied for sixth in wins (5). Motte is on a five-game winning streak during which he has posted a 1.40 goals against average and a .957 save percentage. Motte last weekend stopped 64 of the 67 shots he faced while making his first back-to-back starts of the season. Adam Vay yesterday was reassigned from the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild and Kent Patterson was released.

Power Play

The Mallards rank ninth in the ECHL on the power play (22.0 percent). Saturday night in Kalamazoo they failed to convert any of their four power plays after scoring on their only man advantage the prior evening against Toledo and cashing in three times on their previous five power plays.

Penalty Kill

The Mallards have killed off their opponents' last 12 power plays. They rank tenth in the league in penalty killing (85.7 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards started the season by suffering a home-and-home sweep at the hands of the Komets. On October 14, the Mallards dropped their season opener 6-2 on home ice. One night later they fell 3-1 in Fort Wayne. Friday night's game is the third of 12 this season between the two clubs. The Mallards will face Fort Wayne more often than they collide with any other foe. All-time, the Mallards have gone 50-51-11 against Fort Wayne. The ECHL is the fourth different league in which the two teams have clashed. They previously competed against each other in the United, International and Central Leagues.

Ins and Outs

Goaltender Adam Vay yesterday was reassigned to the Mallards by Minnesota (NHL) from Iowa (AHL) after being assigned to Iowa November 7...Goaltender Kent Patterson was released yesterday...Forward Michael Parks has missed the Mallards' last five games (lower body injury).
