Majors Acquire Mickael Audette

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors have acquired goaltender Mickael Audette from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Audette was claimed off waivers by the Greyhounds this past Friday, after he went through the QMJHL unclaimed.

Audette, who turned 20 on Saturday, is a native of Granby, Quebec and began his QMJHL career during the 2007-08 season as a member of the Quebec Remparts. He appeared in just one game for the Remparts before moving onto the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for the 2008-09 season. He appeared in 17 games for the Huskies in 08-09, accumulating a 4.10 goals against average and an 0.857 save percentage. Last season, he played in 42 games for Rouyn-Noranda, improving his goals against average to 3.06 and his save percentage to 0.883. This season, as part of a re-building Huskies team, Audette has a 4.49 goals against average and an 0.861 save percentage.

The Majors will be in Brampton to face the Battalion on Thursday night. Friday will be the first opportunity for fans to see the new Majors at the Hershey Centre when the Majors square off against the Belleville Bulls at 7:30.
