Majors Acquire D'Orazio from London

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors have acquired defenseman Michael D'Orazio from the London Knights in exchange for second round draft choices in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

D'Orazio, 20, is in his fourth season in the Ontario Hockey League. He was originally selected by the Owen Sound Attack in the first round (8th overall) in the 2006 OHL Priority Selection. He spent three seasons in Owen Sound, appearing in 190 games, scoring 4 goals and 45 assists for 49 points while serving 271 penalty minutes. He was dealt to London in September 2009 and spent a year and a half with the Knights. In 67 games during the 2009-10 season, Michael had his best season offensively scoring 5 goals and 22 assists for 27 points. He was also a +2 with 112 penalty minutes. This season, through 36 games, he has already matched his offensive output from a year ago, with 6 goals and 21 assists for 27 points.

The Majors will be in Brampton to face the Battalion on Thursday night. Friday will be the first opportunity for fans to see D'Orazio and Maxim Kitsyn, who already has 5 points in just 2 games, at the Hershey Centre.
