Major Winter Storm Impacts PrairieThunder Schedule

Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release


Because of the major winter storm which is scheduled to hit the Bloomington-Normal area on Tuesday (and carry across into Ohio on Wednesday), the following changes have been made to the PrairieThunder schedule:

*The PrairieThunder home game scheduled for Tuesday, February 1stvs. Quad City has been postponed due to weather. The game has been re-scheduled for Monday, February 21st@7:05pm (new start time).

*The PrairieThunder road game at Dayton scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd has been postponed due to weather. This game has beenre-scheduled forTuesday, February 22nd@6:00pm (central).

*The original February 21sthome game with Fort Wayne has beenre-scheduled for Tuesday,March 22nd@ 7:05pm.

This will be the seventh meeting of the year between the two Illinois teams. The Mallards lead the season series 4 games to 2 following back to back shutouts about a month ago. Quad City shutout the PrairieThunder 4-0 on 12/27 in Moline and then shut the door again, 2-0 on 1/ 2 in Bloomington. Mallards twine tender David Brown earned both shutouts. PrairieThunder defenseman Alan Mazur leads the team in scoring against the Mallards with five assists. John Snowden has four goals against the Quad. For the Mallards, forward Obi Aduba has seven points against Bloomington (3 goals & 4 assists).

PrairieThunder Notes

The PrairieThunder won two of three last week in the Memphis, Tennessee suburb of Southaven, Mississippi against the Mississippi RiverKings. Bloomington (24-14-2) has slipped back into second place in the CHL's Turner Conference, two points behind both Colorado and Rapid City. However, the PThunder has two games in hand on Colorado and five on Rapid City.....With his victory on Saturday night against the RiverKings, goaltender Marco Emond leads all CHL goaltenders with 19 wins.....Travis Granbois leads the team in penalty minutes with 86.....Jason Dale continues to be the club's leading scorer with 39 points in 40 games (13 goals & 26 assists).....Dale also leads Bloomington in assists (26) and power play assists (13).....Jon Booras and Brett Holmberg each has 14 goals to lead in that team category.....Holmberg has the best plus / minus rating at +9.
