
Machesney Returns to the Rays

N. Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and head coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced that goalie Daren Machesney has been reassigned to the Stingrays from their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.
Machesney, 20, played in ten games with the Bears finishing 3-3-1 with a 3.18 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage. The Lambeth, Ontario native dressed for the Washington Capitals of the NHL in one game as back-up goaltender to Olaf Kolzing.
Prior to his call-up, the 6', 185-pound goalie played seven games with the Stingrays with a 2-5-0 record, a 3.24 goals-against average and a .878 save percentage.
The Stingrays continue their season-high six-game road trip this weekend as they travel to Georgia to face the Gwinnett Gladiators on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. Join "Voice of the Rays" Mike Kelly on ESPN Radio 910 the Team and online at www.stingrayshockey.com for all the play-by-play action beginning at 7:20 p.m. with the Benito's Pre-game Show.
