
Ice Pilots ready for big weekend of hockey at The Hangar

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots look to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the Columbia Inferno tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:05 pm at The Hangar.
The Ice Pilots have won three in a row with two of them coming in overtime. The streak began when the Blue and Gold took a pair of games from the Inferno in South Carolina last weekend. It's just the second visit by Columbia to Pensacola this season.
Ice Pilots forward Mike Wirll is tied with Mike Pandolfo of Trenton for the league lead in goals with 30. Wirll notched a pair of goals in the Ice Pilots comeback win last Friday and added his 30th on Tuesday night as part of the big victory over the state rival Florida Everblades. Wirll, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, is tied for eighth overall in points with 30 goals and 18 assists for 48 points. Goaltender Michael Mole has won three of his last four starts and was 4-4 in the month of January with a 3.87 Goals Against Average and a save percentage of 0.905.

Friday's game is part of a busy weekend of hockey at The Hangar that continues on Saturday when the Charlotte Checkers are in town for another 7:05 pm face-off time.
