PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves (20-17, 49-58) rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to take down the Birmingham Barons (21-17, 53-53) 3-0 in Monday night's, capturing the series win. The M-Braves offense was backed by an outstanding pitching performance from starter, Enderson Franco who was named the M-Braves Monday night starter just a few hours before the game after originally scheduled starter, Kyle Wright was promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett. Franco tossed a one-hitter and tied his season high of 7.0 IP. The right-hander finished the night with a final line of 7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K and 0 HR.

Monday night's contest between the M-Braves and the Barons proved to be a pitchers' duel between M-Braves RHP Franco and Barons RHP Dylan Cease as neither allowed a run.

M-Braves RF Tyler Neslony manufactured the first run of the game in the bottom of the eighth inning after he sent a scorching ground ball RBI single into right field, scoring Daniel Lockhart from second base. Travis Demeritte then followed by reaching base safely on a fielder's choice that allowed Alejandro Salazar to score from third base on a missed catch error by Barons C Alfredo Gonzalez. Sal Giardina produced the third and final run of the game after roping a line drive RBI single to center field that plated Demeritte from third base.

M-Braves relief pitcher, Corbin Clouse (5-2, 2.00) earned the win. The southpaw entered the game in the top of the eighth inning in relief of Franco and tossed one inning in which he issued one walk, struck out two and did not allow a hit or a run. With Franco's quality start on Monday night, the M-Braves pitching staff has now recorded 26 quality starts over the last 45 games. Barons relief pitcher, Brandon Brennan (4-3, 3.26) suffered the loss after surrendering three runs, two earned, in the bottom of the eighth inning. M-Braves closer, Thomas Burrows collected his second save of the series in his second appearance. In 1.0 IP, Burrows allowed 1 H, issued 1 BB and struck out two en route to preserving the shutout for the M-Braves pitching staff.

Game four of the five game series between the Mississippi Braves and the Birmingham Barons will take place at Trustmark Park at 7:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, July 31st.
