Lyman Named Pitcher of the Month

JUPITER, Fla. - Congratulations to RHP Scott Lyman of the Jupiter Hammerheads on being named Miami Marlins Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May 2015. Lyman becomes the second Hammerhead to be awarded the honors after Juancito Martinez was named the Pitcher of the Month for April.

Lyman went 4-0 with a 0.95 ERA in 6 games started in May. Over 38 innings pitched, he held opponents to a .169 batting average while striking out 20 and walking 11. Lyman, the Marlins' 10th round selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of University of California-Davis, currently ranks 2nd in wins (7), 2nd in ERA (1.61) and 3rd in opponent average (.192) in the Florida State League. The Alamo, California native has also been named a 2015 FSL All-Star.

Lyman and the Jupiter Hammerheads will return to Roger Dean Stadium on June 12 when they play host to the Charlotte Stone Crabs.
