Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers News Release

The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers got a masterful pitching performance from Jason Forjet en route to a 4-0 victory over the St. Cloud River Bats on Wednesday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud.

Forjet would go 7 innings of scoreless baseball for the Lunkers and would give up five hits. He also recorded 10 strikeouts which ties Kye Winter for the Lunker season high.

The Lunkers would get a couple runs in the 2nd inning as Tyler Wampler's 2 RBI double gave the Lunkers a 2-0 lead.

Brainerd would add one in the 4th as Steven Brault's RBI single drove in Kyle Crocker.

In the 6th, the Lunkers would add their final run of the game as Dan Olinger brought in Tyler Wampler to give the Lunkers a 4-0 lead. Matt Florer pitch two innings of perfect relief for the Lunkers in the win.

With the win, the Lunkers move to (6-2) and into a tie with Mankato at the top of the North Division. Mankato lost earlier on Wednesday to Duluth in extra innings.

The Lunkers are back in action Thursday against the Thunder Bay Border Cats. First pitch is 6:05 Central time.
