Tonight's Game Vs. Wisconsin Postponed

June 8, 2011 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Madison Mallards News Release

MADISON, WI - June 8, 2011. Mother Nature could not hold on Wednesday night as the finale of a three-game series between the Madison Mallards and the Wisconsin Woodchucks was postponed due to heavy rain.

There was no game play at all either as the rain came just as soon as the Mallards took the field for the top of the first inning.

The Mallards will make an announcement soon in regards to the makeup of tonight's game.

Fans in attendance tonight are encouraged to keep their ticket stubs to redeem them for a future game. Please contact the Mallards office with any questions.

Human cannonball Dave "The Bullet" Smith, who was scheduled to entertain fans following tonight's game, will now perform after tomorrow's contest against Waterloo, which is slated to start at 7:05 p.m.

Tickets for the game Thursday in the Great Dane Duck Blind are standing room only, and due to ticket holder swaps, box seats (which were previously sold out) will be made available. Please call the Mallards' ticket office at (608) 246-4277 or visit mallardsbaseball.com for inquiries.

Tonight's scheduled starter for the Mallards was Chris Burgess (Blackhawk College). Burgess will take the mound for the Mallards tomorrow night.

Information on pitcher availability for tomorrow was not made available for the Woodchucks.
