Lunkers Drafted on Day Two of the MLB Draft

(Brainerd Lakes Area) - Three former Lunkers heard their names called on day two of the MLB Draft on Tuesday.

Ray Black out of the University of Pittsburgh was the highest drafted of the three. The San Francisco Giants drafted the former Lunker closer in the 7th round with the 237th pick. Last year with the Lunkers, Black pitched in 15 games and recorded 8 saves with a 1.42 ERA.

Justin Gominsky out of the University of Minnesota was drafted in the 11th round. The Houston Astros took Gominsky with the 340th pick. Gominsky played for the Lunkers in 2009. He led the team in batting average, hitting at a .324 clip.

The Chicago White Sox drafted Chadd Krist, former Lunker catcher, in the 13th round. Krist was taken with the 411th pick. Last year for the Lunkers, Krist hit .270 with 2 home runs and 30 RBIs.

"We are very excited to see former Lunkers take the next step in their baseball careers," said Lunkers General Manager Dustin Anaas. "All three of these guys made impacts on the Lunkers organization and the community during their time in the Brainerd Lakes Area. We wish them nothing but the best in their pro baseball careers."

The draft wraps up Wednesday with more Lunkers likely to be selected.
