Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Lugnuts battled their way to their second win in three days over the Snappers. The Snappers spoiled Allan de San Miguel's first homer of the season, and only mustered five hits on the day.
After allowing Lansing to jump out to a 3-0 lead, the Snappers came back to tie the game in the fifth inning. Allan de San Miguel hit his first home run of the season in the top of the third inning. Yancarlos Ortiz added a two-RBI single in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game 3-3.
That would be all that the Snappers could do against the Lugnuts, however. Lansing scored single runs in the bottom of the sixth and eighth inning to take a 5-3 lead into the ninth. Lansing's Paul Phillips came on to pitch a 1-2-3 ninth, and picked up his third save of the season.
Beloit starter, Adam Hawes, went four and a third innings allowing just three runs on six hits. Hawes also struck out four Lugnuts on the night.
Upcoming schedule: The Snappers play game four of four with the Lugnuts on Tuesday at 5:05 pm. They will be returning home on Thursday, April 26 for an eight game homestand. Tickets for the upcoming homestand are still available.
