Albany Devils News Release
Rewind:
Friday, FALCONS 4 vs. Devils 2
Lowell left wing Noah Clarke notched two power play goals in a losing effort to the Falcons, 4-2, at the MassMutual Center. Clarke's marker on the Devils' third man-advantage of the contest broke a scoreless tie at 2:50 of the second period, but Springfield went on to score the next three to take the lead for good. Grant Marshall and Petr Vrana assisted on each of Clarke's goals.
Saturday, Devils 5 vs. MONARCHS 3
Trailing 1-0 to the Monarchs after one, the Devils scored four second-period goals to skate away with a 5-3 victory at the Verizon Wireless Center. Barry Tallackson led the offense with two goals and an assist, while Benoit Mondou added 3 helpers. Jordan Parise picked up his second win of the season with 36 saves on 39 shots.
In the standings
In splitting a pair of road games this past weekend, the Devils raised their record to 6-6-1 and now sit in sixth place in the Atlantic Division. Lowell is a mere two points behind a three-way tie for third place between Worcester, Portland and Hartford, and four points out of the top spot shared by Providence and Springfield. Lurking one point behind Lowell in the standings are the Manchester Monarchs.
Coming Up
The Devils begin a four-game homestand with a two-game set at Tsongas Arena this weekend. Lowell will host Hartford on Friday for the first of eight meetings this season between the two teams. The Wolf Pack's leading scorer, Greg Moore (7g-7a-14pts), was recalled by the New York Rangers on November 12. Lowell recorded a 5-2-1 record against Hartford last season. SodaPop the Clown will be on hand to create balloon characters for all children who visit the Kid's Corner, which is located behind Section T.
Lowell completes the weekend with a Sunday matinee versus the Norfolk Admirals in what will be game one of the four-game season series. The Admirals are just 1-5-1 on the road this season, but were a perfect 4-0-0 against the Devils last year.
