
Worcester Sharks Announce Front Office Promotion

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks Chief Operating Officer David Daniels has announced today that Michael Myers has been promoted to Director of Youth Hockey and Community Relations.
Under the direction of Myers, the Worcester Sharks have been involved in over 400 community events throughout central Massachusetts. Michael has spearheaded and directed; the "Be A Leader" program which promotes "leadership" skills throughout schools in central Massachusetts; the "Reading is Cool" program; several mascot and player appearances, and the Sharks Street Brigades. Through his work, Myers has promoted youth hockey throughout central Massachusetts and has hosted over 70 youth hockey games on the DCU Center Ice.
"The Sharks have been extremely fortunate to have Michael Myers on board from day one, said Worcester Sharks COO David Daniels. "We felt it was very important to hire good people from the Worcester area. His hard work ethic and willingness to make the Sharks one of the best franchises in the American Hockey League has not gone unnoticed. The Worcester Sharks are proud to promote Myers to his current position as Director."
Myers is a 1993 graduate of Assumption College where he was a goaltender for the varsity hockey team. In his spare time, Myers creates and designs goalie masks and serves as an instructor for many youth hockey association goaltender instruction camps. Myers designed and painted the goalie mask worn by Worcester Sharks Goaltender Thomas Greiss. Michael was one of the original hires by the Worcester Sharks and lives in Worcester with his wife Ann and two sons Matthew and Damon.
The Sharks visit the Providence Bruins on Friday, November 16th at 7:05 p.m. before returning home again on Saturday vs. the Pirates as the Sharks team up with the Worcester County Sheriffs Office for the 2nd Annual Canned Food Drive to benefit the Friendly House in Worcester. All fans that donate a canned food item will receive a FREE ticket voucher to a future Sharks game compliments of Price Chopper. For ticket information, contact the Sharks at (508) 929-0500.
