
Lowell assigns seven players to Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV â The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the Lowell Lock Monsters of AHL have assigned goalie Sebastian Centomo, defenseman Regan Darby, and forwards Adam Huxley, Chris Stanley, Darren Lynch, Dan Tudin and Patrick Nilson for the 2004-05 season. All players participated in the NHL's Calgary Flames Rookie Camp.
"I have seen each of these guys play and they will be very welcome additions to the Wranglers hockey club," said Head Coach / General Manager Glen Gulutzan. "All these guys are young and loaded with talent. Each of them has the potential to be a player at the next level and they just need some time to develop at the ECHL level."
Goalie Sebastian Centomo enters his fourth year of professional hockey after spending the entire 2003-04 season in the AHL with the St. John's Maple Leafs. Centomo posted a 13-17-4 record with the Leafs. Centomo's save percentage was .904 and he posted a goals against average of 3.15. Centomo led the team with four shutouts on the season. Centomo comes in with a 10-3-3 ECHL record. His only stint in the ECHL came with Greensboro in 2002-03 where he posted a 2.55 goals against average and a save percentage of .926. Centomo earned CHL Rookie of the Year honors after going 16-1-0 record, 2.09 goals against average and a save percentage of .934. The 23-year old stopped 15 of 19 shots in a 6-5 exhibition shootout win for Lowell over the weekend.
Forwards Adam Huxley, Patrick Nilson, and Darren Lynch also join the Wranglers after Lowell's training camp. Huxley, 6-foot-195-pounds, enters his first full season of professional hockey after scoring 16 points and compiling 237 in 68 games with Seattle and Saskatoon of the WHL. Huxley racked up 621 penalty minutes in 197 career WHL games. Nilson scored 27 goals and added 38 assists for 65 points in 60 games for the CHL Champion Laredo Bucks. Nilson added eight goals and two assists in 15 playoff games. The Swedish native also earned a three-game call up to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. Lynch enters his first professional season of hockey after scoring 88 goals and assisting on 130 others for 218 points in 291 games played for the WHL's Vancouver Giants. Last season, the 21-year old also recorded five goals and four assists for nine points in 11 playoff games.
Dan Tudin, Chris Stanley, and Regan Darby were all under contract with the Wranglers prior to their invite to Lock Monster Camp. Stanley, the 2004 Canadian National College Player of the Year, picked up two assists in two preseason games. Tudin picked up one assist and Darby racked up seven penalty minutes in two preseason games.
The Wranglers total roster of signed/ assigned players for the 2004-05 season is now 19. The Wranglers have goalie Marc Magliarditi, defensemen Jason McBain, Mike McBain, Troy Smith, Regan Darby and Jon Krall signed. Forwards Morten Ask, Jeff Attard, Doug Wright, Dan Tudin, Cam McCaffrey, Dana Lattery, Rejean Stringer, Tom Nelson and Chris Stanley are also under contract for the 2004-05 season. Goalie Sebastian Centomo, and forwards Patrick Nilson, Adam Huxley and Darren Lynch have been assigned to the club from the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL. Las Vegas is also expecting their NHL Affiliate, the Calgary Flames, to assign up to four additional players within the upcoming weeks.
The Wranglers open training camp Friday, October 8th. The on-going NHL lockout will have no bearing on the Wranglers participating in their second season in the ECHL. The Wranglers will give their fans a preview of the season when they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies for two preseason games on October 15th and 16th at 7:05 pm.
Tickets for all games will go on sale Friday, October 1. Fans may purchase seats to the Wranglers Opening Night on November 2nd as well as all other 35 regular season home games and both pre-season games at any of the following ticket locations; The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast, or at the Boulevard, Galleria or Meadows Malls guest relations/ticket centers.
