Rivermen to Open Training Camp on Sunday, October 10

Peoria, Ill. (October 4, 2004) â Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that the team's training camp will open Sunday, October 10 with players reporting for physicals.
Training camp will begin in earnest on Monday, October 11 with an 8:00 a.m., off-ice training session. The team will take the ice for the first time 3:00 p.m. at Carver Arena, which will be home to the team's on-ice activities for training camp. Monday, October 11 â Thursday, October 14, the team will engage in an 8:00 a.m. workout followed by a 3:00 p.m. on-ice session.
All on-ice activities at Carver Arena are open to the public.
On Friday, October 15, the Rivermen will prepare for their preseason home game against the archrival Toledo Storm at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena. Those players dressing for the preseason game will engage in a 10:00 a.m. pre-game skate, and those not dressing will skate at 11:00 a.m.
The majority of player cuts will be made on Saturday, October 16, and the remaining players will participate in a team-building exercise on Sunday, October 17.
During the week of October 18, the team will participate in 10:00 a.m. practices at Carver Arena Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. The Rivermen will host the archrival Dayton Bombers in their home and season opener on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena.
Media Day will take place on Wednesday, October 20. Players will take the ice for practice at 11:00 a.m. Player interviews will be available throughout and following practice. Team information, lunch and refreshments will be provided to all media representatives.
