Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

Wilmer Reyes delivered a double that drove in three runs as the Brooklyn Cyclones held on for a 6-4 win on Thursday night over the Hudson Valley Renegades at Dutchess Stadium.

It's the third loss in a row for the Gades.

The double by Reyes came with two out in the third inning to break a 2-2 tie. Reyes was awarded two RBIs while the third run scored as a result of a throwing error.

The Gades had a 2-1 lead after one inning on an RBI single by Elijah Dunham and a triple from Jake Sanford that drove in a run.

Beck Way got the start for the Renegades and worked 2.2 innings, allowing five runs on three hits with four walks and six strikeouts. He took the loss to fall to 1-2.

Hudson Valley finally closed the deficit in the home eighth inning when Everson Pereira hit his 11th home run. Jake Sanford added an RBI single later in the frame.

The Gades had a chance to tie the game in both the eighth and the ninth. Luis Santos walked with the Renegades down to their final out to set up a showdown between Anthony Volpe and Brooklyn reliever Evy Ruibal. The right-hander got Volpe to fly out to shallow right to end the game.

With the loss, the Renegades drop to 65-46 and trail Greensboro by six with nine games to play.

The teams meet again on Friday night.

Per the State of New York, the Renegades are now open at 100% capacity. Tickets continue to be a tremendous value starting as low as $6. Visit HVRenegades.com for ticket information and so much more.
