
Dash Go Back-And-Forth with Bowling Green, Fall 4-3

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A back-and-forth game four between the Dash and Bowling Green Hot Rods resulted in a 4-3 Dash loss on Friday night at Truist Stadium.
The Hot Rods took an early 1-0 lead as Grant Witherspoon walked and scored on a single by Jordan Qsar. Alex Destino answered for the Dash in the home first, slugging his 20th homer of the season to tie the game at a run apiece after one frame.
Bowling Green came back ahead in the third on a controversial home run hit by Grant Witherspoon which bounced off the very top of the center field wall and landed back in play. After a meeting between the umpires, the stood and the Hot Rods took a 2-1 lead.
The Dash answered again in the third after Alex Destino drew a walk and hustled home on a double from Luis Curbelo. The Hot Rods took another lead in the fifth that began with Curtis Mead fashioning a single. Mead scurried to third after Evan Edwards singled to right field. Mead came home to score on a sacrifice fly from Hill Alexander to put Bowling Green back ahead 3-2.
Winston-Salem knotted the game at three in the seventh, knotting the game after Jose Rodriguez reached on an error and stole both second and third before being brought home on a passed ball.
Bowling Green had the final say as Evan Edwards scored on a sacrifice fly to center field by Erik Ostberg to take the midweek game 4-3. Trey Cumbie(1-2) was credited with the victory for Bowling Green while Alan Strong collected his fourth save. Cooper Bradford(3-3) took a loss for the Dash.
Game five is slated for Saturday evening with a 6:10 p.m. first pitch. Taj Bradleywill take the mound for Bowling Green. Winston-Salem has yet to announce their starter. Coverage begins at 5:55 on https://www.milb.com/winston-salem/team/broadcast-corner.
