JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Luis Garcia had two hits including a home run and drove in four as the BlueClaws blanked Greensboro 6-0 on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park.
Jersey Shore (51-59) has won two straight after dropping the first two to Greensboro (71-41).
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run home run by Garcia. It was his 12th home run of the year, but first with the BlueClaws after he hit 11 with Clearwater. Jersey Shore added a run in the fifth on an RBI single from Johan Rojas.
The BlueClaws tacked on three more in the seventh to blow the game open. Simon Muzziotti's RBI single in the seventh made it 4-0. Garcia followed with a two-run double to extend the lead to 6-0.
Jersey Shore starter Tyler Phillips, added from Reading earlier in the day, threw three scoreless innings. Carlos Francisco (1-0) threw two and James McArthur, also added from Reading on Friday, got the last 12 outs, allowing one run with five strikeouts, to earn the save. The three combined on the 10th BlueClaws shutout of the season.
Muzziotti and Garcia had two hits apiece for the BlueClaws.
