
Los Angeles Comes Up Short Against Reno

El Segundo, CA- The Los Angeles D-Fenders (16-28) fell short to the Reno Bighorns 114-101 in the first of two consecutive games. The teams will battle again tomorrow afternoon at the Toyota Sports Center for the D-Fenders last home game of the season.
The D-Fenders trailed by seven at the close of the first quarter, with the Bighorns leading 31-24. James Peters and Michael Fey carried Los Angeles with six points apiece. Reno's Rod Benson led his team with nine points and four rebounds at the end of the first.
The Bighorns continued to lead, outscoring the D-Fenders 25-22 in the second quarter. Richie Frahm scored nine points in the second quarter, contributing to Reno's first half advantage, 56-46.
Ryan Forehan-Kelly, James Wright and James Peters each notched six points in the third quarter helping the D-Fenders outscore their opponent 30-29 at the end of the quarter. Los Angeles was able to cut their deficit to as many as three points in the third but Reno maintained their lead, finishing the quarter 85-76.
The Bighorns were able to hold off the D-Fenders in the final quarter, outscoring the home team 29-25. Forehan-Kelly scored 11 points in the fourth but Los Angeles fell short to Reno as the Bighorns finished the game with a 114-101 advantage.
Michael Fey led the D-Fenders with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while teammates Forehan-Kelly and Peters chipped in with 21 and 18 points respectively. Reno's Frahm carried his team with 23 points and Rod Benson added 22 points and 11 rebounds.
