AOL's FanHouse and D-League Announce New Multiyear Agreement
March 24, 2010 - NBA G League (G League) News Release
NEW YORK, March 24, 2010 - The NBA Development League, the NBA's official minor league, and FanHouse, AOL Inc.'s premier sports site, featuring proactive voices, news, and scores, today announced a new multiyear agreement. The new pact will provide fans with access to a comprehensive NBA D-League section on FanHouse (nba.fanhouse.com/nbadleague) that will include live games online, news from a dedicated staff of writers, and weekly video highlights.
Beginning with the Utah Flash vs. the Idaho Stampede on Wednesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET., FanHouse will feature a series of live NBA D-League games online throughout the remainder of the season. The Webcasts, free to all fans, will further complement the NBA D-League's NBA Futurecast product, which provides fans with access to more than 400 live games on NBA.com/dleague.
Along with the live games, the new section will include a staff of writers for the NBA D-League contributing on-site game stories of select games, in-depth, behind-the-scenes features on players and coaches, breaking news from around the league, and ongoing coverage of players called up to the NBA.
Additionally, NBA Entertainment will produce weekly video highlight packages featuring the top plays of the week from around the league that will be available on nba.fanhouse.com/nbadleague.
"We are thrilled to team up with FanHouse to provide comprehensive coverage of the outstanding level of basketball and engaging personal stories found in the NBA D-League," said NBA D-League President Dan Reed. "With nearly 20 percent of NBA players now having NBA D-League experience, the popularity of FanHouse will provide more fans with the chance to follow top players working hard to achieve their dream of reaching the NBA."
Throughout the year, the NBA D-League section will be featured at various times on the FanHouse main page, NBA section, and on the AOL Network. The NBA D-League will also promote the new FanHouse section on NBA.com/dleague, all team sites, NBA TV, and additional assets.
FanHouse is one of the top sports destinations on the Web. Currently, FanHouse features more than 30 top sports writers from around the country and features on-site coverage of major sporting events while enabling fans to interact and show support for their favorite teams.
