
D-Fenders Fall To The Bighorns In Last Home Game

El Segundo, CA- The Los Angeles D-Fenders (16-29) fell short to the Reno Bighorns in their last home game of the season. The D-Fenders battled early on but the Bighorns were able to come away with a 117-100 victory, Wednesday afternoon at the Toyota Sports Center.
The Bighorns came out strong in the first quarter outscoring the D-Fenders by eight (39-31). Frank Robinson and James Wright carried Los Angeles with nine points apiece but Reno was able to out-rebound the home team 10-5, giving them the first quarter advantage.
Los Angeles took the lead with 5:03 left in the second quarter but the Bighorns regained the lead closing the half with a 63-54 advantage. Michael Fey scored eight points for the D-Fenders but Reno outscored the Los Angeles 24-23 at the close of the quarter.
Reno held Los Angeles to 11 points in the third, contributing to their 83-65 lead at the end of the quarter. Reno's Desmon Farmer tallied nine points, while teammate Rod Benson posted eight rebounds.
The D-Fenders outscored the Bighorns 35-34 in the fourth but it wasn't enough to get the lead. James Wright notched 15 points while Gabriel Hughes added 10 points of his own in the final quarter. Reno's DJ Strawberry posted 12 points in the fourth, contributing to the Bighorn's 117-100 advantage at the final buzzer.
Wright carried the D-Fenders with 24 points, while teammate Robinson added 19. Reno's Farmer tallied 23 points and DJ Strawberry chipped in with 20 points, 12 of which he scored in the fourth quarter.
