WHEELING, WV - Andrew Lord scored the game winning goal with 43 seconds remaining, to lift the Wheeling Nailers to a 5-4 victory over the Trenton Devils Sunday evening at WesBanco Arena. The Nailers went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend three-in-three.

The Nailers struck first on a goal by Joey Haddad. Haddad now has three goals in the past two games. After a power play tally by Trenton's J.S. Berube, the Nailers reclaimed the lead on Ben Street's goal off a faceoff win in the offensive zone. Street picked up the loose puck, and fired a wrist shot past Devils goaltender Jeff Lerg, giving the Nailers a 2-1 lead after one period played.

The Devils heated up in the second scoring consecutive goals from Trevor Kell and Ryan Hayes, giving Trenton a 3-2 lead. The Nailers tied the game at 18:52 of the period, on David Marshall's fourth tally of the season. Wheeling reclaimed the lead 13:12 into the third, when Kris Vernarsky tipped-in a David Marshall shot, giving the Nailers a 4-3 edge. However, the Devils continued their assault as Hayes would slip a shot past Wheeling goaltender Patrick Killeen, to tie the game at four with a 1:42 remaining in regulation.

It appeared the game was heading for overtime, but Andrew Lord found himself with the puck, and snapped it high in the corner on the glove side past Lerg, to give the Nailers a 5-4 for lead, and the win. The win improves the Nailers record to 4-1 on the season, and Patrick Killeen improves to 3-0 in goal. Trenton outshot Wheeling 43-37.
