SOUTH BEND, IN - The South Bend Silver Hawks capitalized on three infield singles in the third inning to plate three runs in a 4-2 win Tuesday night at Coveleski Stadium over the Great Lakes Loons.

In a scoreless game, the Silver Hawks got back to back infield choppers by Roidanny Aguila and Raul Navarro to put two on with no outs. Niko Gallego laid down a bunt to third baseman Jeff Hunt, whose throw to first was late, although Loons manager John Shoemaker argued the verdict of first base umpire Lee Meyers. Chris Ellison followed with an RBI ground out to second base. Fidel Pena then grounded one to second, but Jesus Arredondo's throw home was too late to get Navarro. Then Tom Belza followed with a sac fly to give the Silver Hawks all the runs they would need in the game.

Raydel Sanchez (1-3), making his first start of the season following 13 relief appearances, surrendered just those three runs. He allowed just one outfield hit in his five innings. Sanchez started in place of Ryan O'Sullivan, who was promoted to the California League Monday.

Archie Bradley, South Bend's starter, left the game with the lead but worked just 4 2/3 innings and picked up a no-decision. He allowed just one run and three hits but walked six, two each in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Lefty Keith Hessler (1-1) picked up the win with 2 1/3 relief innings. Righty Jake Barrett, the Diamondback's third round selection this season, worked a hitless, scoreless ninth inning for his second save.

The Loons managed just five hits in the game. Joe Winker and Jesus Arredondo had run-producing singles.

The Loons (2-3 second half, 36-39 overall) wrap up their three-game series with South Bend (3-2, 38-37) Wednesday night beginning at 7:05pm. Right-hander Joel Lima (1-0, 2 .60 ERA) makes his first start of the season after 11 relief appearances for the Loons. Righty Tyler Green (2-4, 3.61) starts for the Silver Hawks. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 100.9-FM and ESPN1009.com.

The Great Lakes Loons are a sixth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and are in the middle of their 5th Anniversary Celebration, which kicked off in August 2011 and will continue throughout the 2012 season.
