Lookouts Walk 12 Times in 13-5 Victory

June 4, 2018 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

The Chattanooga Lookouts drew 12 walks in a 13-5 victory over the Mobile BayBears at AT&T Field. Staring pitcher Lewis Thorpe improved to 2-3 by throwing a season-high six straight shutout innings.

Chattanooga jumped out to an early three run lead on a Edgar Corcino RB single, a Ryan Walker RBI single and a LaMonte Wade sacrfice fly. In the fifth LaMonte Wade smacked a two-run homer to make it 5-0 Chattanooga. After that homer the flood gates opened as Mobile walked five straight batters. The home team finished the inning with nine runs to make it 12-0. The onslaught continued in the sixth on a James Ramsey RBI hit.

Mobile finally got on the board with five runs in the eighth, but that was all they would muster.

Tomorrow, the two teams return for a 7:15 p.m. game on Kids Eat Free Monday presented by Northshore Pediatric Dentistry. RHP Kohl Stewart takes the mound against RHP Luis Pena.
