Lookouts sweep Biscuits, win 4-1
June 4, 2006 - Southern League (SL1)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
After losing only their second series of the year last week to Mississippi, the Lookouts have bounced back to sweep the first three games of this five game series against Montgomery, to guarantee a series victory. Behind the right arm of Steve Kelly, the Lookouts won today, 4-1. Kelly scattered nine hits over eight innings and gave up one run en rout to his seventh win of the season. He out-dueled Jim Magrane and the two pitchers are now tied for the league lead in wins.
Javon Moran added a spark to the Lookouts' offense, as he went 3-3 and two runs scored. Chris Dickerson and Joey Votto both went 2-4, with an RBI. Catcher Rafael Motooka earned his first RBI today with a sacrifice fly. Javier Colina went 1-3 with a RBI of his own.
West Tennessee won today, and with 12 games left in the first half, the Lookouts maintain a one and a half game lead. If the Lookouts win the North Division in the first half, they will automatically qualify for the Southern League Playoffs.
The Lookouts are back in action again tomorrow night, as they take on the Montgomery Biscuits in game four of this five game series. The gates will open at 5:30 and first pitch is scheduled for 7:15.
