Jackson, TN (June 3)- The Chicago Cubs have promoted RHP Carlos Marmol from Double-A West Tenn to the major leagues. Marmol will be in uniform on Sunday afternoon when the Chicago Cubs take on the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO.
Marmol made eleven starts with the Diamond Jaxx, going 3-2 with a 2.33 ERA. In fifty-eight innings of work, Marmol allowed eighteen runs (fifteen earned) on forty-two hits with twenty-five walks and a Southern League leading sixty-seven strikeouts. His 2.33 ERA was the 6th lowest ERA in the Southern League.
The Diamond Jaxx roster is currently at twenty-two.
