Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - It took a while for the Lookouts' bats to warm up, but they certainly did in the sixth inning. Hector Gimenez hit a three-run homer to lead to lead the Lookouts to a 4-2 win over the Jackson Generals in Tuesday night action at AT&T Field.
Jackson got on the scoreboard first in the top of the third inning. Carlos Triunfel led off the inning with a single and promptly made his way home on a subsequent Vincent Catricala double.
The Generals added another run in the fourth frame on an RBI double from Scott Savastano. Meanwhile, Jackson starting pitcher James Paxton pitched brilliantly through five innings, not yielding a single hit to the Lookouts until the bottom of the fifth with two outs.
The complexion of the game changed significantly in the sixth inning, as the Lookouts finally entered the scoreboard.
Brad Coon led off the inning with a single and scampered to second on a passed ball. After a Wilberto Ortiz ground out, which allowed Coon to reach third, Alfredo Silverio singled to plate Coon. Paxton was then removed from the game, and Taylor Stanton (1-4) took the mound for the Generals. Stanton then proceeded to walk Brian Cavazos-Galvez to put runners on first and second. Hector Gimenez followed by blasting a Stanton offering over the right field wall to give the Lookouts a 4-2 lead.
The stellar Lookouts bullpen took over for starter Michael Antonini (9-8) and was able to shut the door on the Generals.
Josh Lindblom recorded the final three outs to record his 16th save of the season for Chattanooga.
The Chattanooga Lookouts and Jackson Generals will continue their five-game series at 11:15 A.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
