Pearl, MS - On Monday, Brett Oberholtzer was honored by being named the Southern League's Pitcher of the Week. This is the second time a Mississippi Brave has been given the honor, the other being Randall Delgado for the Week of May 2-8.

Oberholtzer, who was named by Baseball America as the ninth top Braves prospect, has been a valuable lefty for the AA-Braves. Since being assigned in Mississippi, he has amassed an 8-9 record, managed an overall 3.70 ERA, and has thrown a total of 121.2 innings, more than any other Southern League pitcher.

Since the beginning of July, he has acquired a 4-1 record earning him a 2.18 ERA, his best month to date. Specifically, during the week of July 18-24, Oberholtzer threw a total of 13 innings only giving up two earned runs, one walk, and striking out six batters.

Currently, he is ranked as the ninth best pitcher in the league, with fellow braves J.J. Hoover taking the number two spot and Randall Delgado in the seven spot.
