P Ebinger rejoins Tennessee; P Beeler placed on DL

KODAK, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announce this afternoon that LHP Brent Ebinger has been added to the team's active roster. In related roster moves, RHP Dallas Beeler has been placed on the disabled list. Both moves are immediate, with Ebinger being available for tonight's series opener against the Montgomery Biscuits.

Ebinger, 23, rejoins Tennessee having appeared in one game with the Smokies in 2011. While in Tennessee, he tossed two innings allowing two earned runs on four hits. The Hendersonville, Tenn. native was selected in the 32nd round of the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft.

Beeler heads to the DL for the first time in 2011. While with Tennessee, he held a 1-5 record with a 4.53 ERA.
