
Locke, Van Hekken Lead RedHawks to 10-2 Win

Tucson, Ariz. - Drew Locke belted two home runs and drove in six runs in support of starter Andy Van Hekken, who allowed two runs over seven strong innings while leading the Oklahoma City RedHawks (52-65) to a 10-2 win over the Tucson Padres (53-63) before 1,691 Monday night at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Van Hekken (7-4) gave up two earned runs and seven hits over seven innings for the winning decision, issuing only one walk with five strikeouts. Van Hekken's ERA, still second best in the PCL, dropped from 3.27 to 3.22. Van Hekken also extended a hitting streak to five games with a third inning RBI double. Tucson starter Jeremy Hefner (8-6) allowed nine runs on 11 hits over six innings with four walks and five strikeouts in the losing decision.
The RedHawks scored five first inning runs against Hefner. Collin Delome doubled on the second pitch of the game and scored on a Brett Wallace single for a 1-0 score. Anderson Hernandez singled and scored on a Chris Johnson groundout for a 2-0 RedHawks advantage. Drew Locke capped off the inning with a three-run home run, his first home runs since June 28, for a 5-0 score.
Oklahoma City added three more runs in the third inning. Locke belted a two-run home run to left-centerfield, his seventh of the season, for a 7-0 score. Jake Goebbert later singled and scored on an Andy Van Hekken double over the centerfielder's head for an 8-0 advantage.
Tucson added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Bobby Kielty led off the fourth with a ground rule double and scored on a Guillermo Quiroz double play ground ball for an 8-1 game. In the fifth inning Eric Patterson reached on a two-out infield hit and scored on an Anthony Rizzo single for an 8-2 score.
The RedHawks capped off the night with single runs in the sixth and eighth innings. In the sixth, Chris Johnson walked and scored on a Locke double, his sixth RBI in the game, for a 9-2 lead. In the eighth inning Johnson led off with a double and scored on an Oswaldo Navarro double play ball for a 10-2 score.
