Local Legion Teams to Faceoff

BROCKTON - For the past two days, Campanelli Stadium has been the site of the 2006 American Legion Northeast Regional Tournament showcasing some of the best amateur talent in the region. Both Brockton Post 35 and Milton Post 114 won their first games and look to continue on in the winner's bracket. Saturday at 9:30AM, Brockton Post 35 will take on Cumberland, RI Post 14 in the first of four games. If Brockton wins this game tomorrow, they will be slated to face off against Milton later on that evening at 7:00PM as Milton won their second contest Friday night. However, if Brockton loses, they are not yet eliminated from tournament play, but will participate in the afternoon game at 4:30PM. The winner of this tournament will advance to the American Legion World Series to take place from August 18-22 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tickets are available for the remainder of the tournament by visiting the American Legion ticket booth located in the Campanelli Stadium ticket plaza on game days.
