
Live Condor Returns Friday for Condors Home Opener

CONDORSTOWN - The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, are gearing up for their home opener on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena, this Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. It is the return of Queen Victoria, the live Condor and Angry Birds Hat Giveaway Night presented by 29 Eyewitness News, 101.5 KGFM, and Diamond Technologies. Get to your seats early as you will not want to miss the world's most famous Condor "take flight" again.
Queen Victoria Encore/Angry Birds Hat Giveaway
Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. (5:45 p.m. forseason ticket holders) Queen Victoria, the live Andean Condor, makes her return pre-game, along with Joe "The Birdman" Krathwohl. Fans will have an opportunity to see two condors, an eagle (since we play the Colorado Eagles, get it?), and a singing parrot at the game. Take pictures with them in the Condors photo booth and buy t-shirts to support Condor Conservation. For more information on Condor Conservation and how you can help, click here. First 2,000 kids, 12 and under, take home one of many options of Angry Birds Plush hat (while supplies last) They're great.
What to Watch For
Entire team will be introduced during the pre-game cermonies. Members of the Bakersfield Dragons Youth Hockey Program will come out with the players. Bakersfield hits the road on Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest in Ontario. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM, www.foxsports970am.com, on the Condors mobile website, condors.co, and via iHeartRadio on your smartphone. Ryan Holt has the call beginning at 5:45 p.m. with Condors Countdown.
