Landry and Langlier-Parent Assigned to Blades from AHL Syracuse
October 16, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Florida Everblades News Release
Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Wednesday that the team has been assigned defenseman Charles Landry and forward Maxime Langelier-Parent from the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch.
Landry, 22, has played 87 career games for the Blades from 2011-13 with 25 points (6g, 19a) and a plus-17 rating on the blue line while helping Florida capture the franchise's first-ever Kelly Cup in 2012.
"Charles was a big part of our team the last couple seasons," stated Everblades head coach Greg Poss, "he did a great job in 2012 when we won the Kelly Cup and was a top guy for us in the playoffs last year, as well. He is a real welcome addition to our team."
Standing at 5-foot-11, 187 pounts from Napierville, Quebec, Landry has collected six assists in 33 career appearances in the AHL, split between Syracuse and the Norfolk Admirals. In addition to winning the Kelly Cup, he also won the President's Cup in the QMJHL in 2009 with the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
Langelier-Parent, 25, joined the Everblades last season after a four-year career at McGill University but only played in three games-registering two goals and an assist-before a hip injury cut his first professional season short.
"Max only played in three games before his injury but in those three games he did impress us," added Poss. "He's 100% healthy now, so we are excited to get him back."
A native of Lery, Quebec, Langelier-Parent was an assistant captain his final year at McGill for the Redmen squad that captured the CIS University Cup in 2012.
