Lions Add More Purple to Black and Orange Den

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club has selected their third Bishop's Gaiter in two years with the addition of receiver Shawn Gore in the second round (10th overall) in today's Canadian Draft.

Gore, the reigning Bishop's Male Athlete of the Year led the Gaiters in the 2009 regular season with 32 catches for 496 yards and five touchdowns. He joins former college teammates Jamall Lee, Dan McCullough and James Yurichuk as recent Lions acquisitions from Bishop's.

"Shawn in our estimation was the best receiver available in this year's draft and we are very pleased that he was available in the second round," said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono.

Over his career, Gore notched 1172 receiving yards on 72 catches in 29 regular-season games and finished his time at the CIS school on a 21-game pass catching streak.
