Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

LINCOLN - Despite back-to-back, two-out home runs to tie the game in the 10th, Kansas City got the last laugh as the T-Bones topped the Saltdogs 7-5 in front of 4,989 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.

After Lincoln allowed two unearned runs in the top of the 10th, Gavin Dickey stroked an opposite field home run with two outs in the bottom-half to pull the 'Dogs to 3-2.

Phil Hawke then followed with an eight-pitch at-bat, launching a two-two pitch over the wall in left to even the score at 3-3.

In the top of the 11th, Aharon Eggleston hit a two-run homer to right to give the T-Bones a 5-3 lead. It was Eggleston's fourth home run of the season - all of them have been hit over the right field fence at Haymarket Park.

Tim Brown pitched seven strong innings, allowing just one run on eight hits but didn't factor into the decision. Kris Johnson tossed eight innings, giving up one run on five hits while striking out eight and walking five.

Pat Trettel tied the game at 1-1 in the second with a solo home run to right and neither club scored until the 10th.

Andy Shipman (3-4) blew the save in the 10th but pitched two innings to pick up the win. PJ Zocchi pitched two innings, allowing four runs - two earned - to suffer the loss.

The teams meet Sunday evening at 5:05 p.m. for the series finale. Vince Bongiovanni (1-0, 0.00) will square off against Devin Anderson (5-6, 5.08). Radio coverage begins at 4:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
