
Lightning Assign Forward Dana Tyrell to Admirals

TAMPA BAY, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, assigned forward Dana Tyrell to the Admirals today, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced. The move, accompanied with the placing of defenseman Mattias Ohlund on injured reserve, gives the Lightning their final 23-man roster to start the season.
Tyrell, 5-foot-11, 180-pounds, played in five exhibition games with the Bolts this preseason, with a plus-1 rating and six shots on goal. He played in his first 78 career NHL games with Tampa Bay during 2010-11, notching six goals and 15 points. Tyrell also played in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Lightning before being sidelined by injury.
Tyrell has skated in 85 career AHL games - all with the Admirals. He has scored ten goals and 42 points. Tyrell made his professional debut with the Admirals at the end of the 2007-08 season, skating in 11 games with Norfolk scoring a goal and six points. He then played his first full professional season with the Admirals in 2009-10, skating in 74 games and posting nine goals and 36 assists. Tyrell led the Admirals in assists (27) and plus/minus (+9) in 2009-10. He also led all Norfolk rookies in goals, assists and points.
