Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

In a battle for the final playoff spot, the second-place IronPigs (82-56) play Game 1 of a two-game series against the third-place Rochester Red Wings (79-60) at Frontier Field... With a 4-3 victory over Pawtucket last night, the Pigs swept the two-game, home series and have now won four of their last five affairs while posting a 30-17 record since the All-Star Break. The Pigs maintain a 3.5-game lead over Rochester in Wild Card standings for a "Magic Number" of two -- meaning they have to win just one of their remaining five* games to clinch the Wild Card (*all against Rochester)... The Red Wings -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- scored a 4-3 last night to sweep a two-game, home series from Syracuse. The red hot, Red Wings have gone 11-3 in their last 14 contests to stay in the playoff hunt. However, this span followed an 8-15 skid from July 24 to Aug. 17... The Pigs are 4-0-1 in five series against the Red Wings this season, which includes winning a three-game set, 2-1, in their most recent meeting Aug. 5-7 in Allentown.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (4-0, 2.83) will start for LHV against LHP Nick Greenwood (5-3, 3.11).

First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
